THE CHALLENGE

A major international energy company was experiencing ongoing issues with the MEG at their gas plant resulting in damaged equipment and lengthy delays. The high volumes of solids contained within the MEG impacted the regeneration system; the process of removing water from the MEG. A solution was required to avoid the cost of disposing and then replacing the MEG.

HOW WE HELPED:

Having pervious onsite experience Osso deployed a team to install a Zone II disc stack centrifuge and also provided 24/7 monitoring and maintenance cover across three of their storage tanks to oversee the decontamination for the duration of the project.

STRONG RESULTS:

The project last for 17 days and yielded an average removal efficiency of approximately 87%, successfully reducing the centrifuge feed from 172 mg/l to a MEG output of 79mg/l. The success of the delivery team and results led to TEPUK initiating a show and tell and awarding Osso’s team as crew of the week. The removal of the sludge contaminants from the MEG will prevent future serious fouling of equipment, resulting in less unplanned maintenance delays and improved production efficiency.
