TAR’s / Shutdowns

De-risk your project and enhance overall operational and environmental targets

During TAR’s and Shutdowns, OSSO offer specialist solutions that reduce liabilities, skip hire, waste disposal and equipment footprint, helping to ensure your TAR Shutdown is delivered on time, with minimal risk to operations.

These include:

  • Fluid waste stream minimisation at source

  • Slops clean up

  • MEG polishing

  • Diesel/lube oil/hydraulic oil polishing

  • Oily water clean up

  • Servicing, repair and refurbishment

  • PHE service centre

Offshore fluid waste stream minimisation at source

Through employing OSSO’s field proven separation technologies, decanter and disk stack centrifuges, we can efficiently separate offshore waste streams at source, reducing costs and environmental impact by minimising the amount of waste brought back onshore.

Slops clean up

Through a process of centrifugal technologies and when necessary, specialised chemicals, the water phase can be cleaned to achieve “oil-in-waters” consistently below 30ppm allowing for discharge offshore while recovering saleable hydrocarbons.

Diesel/lube oil/hydraulic oil polishing

Fuels and oils can easily become contaminated by water either through adsorption from air, condensation or rainwater which can lead to the build-up of bacteria, in the case of diesel contamination, the ”diesel bug”, which can accelerate corrosion of storage tanks resulting in corrosion product build up.

The result? Filters require frequent changing adding to costs and waste streams. Blocked fuel lines cab occur and at worst, there can be a complete loss of power resulting in unplanned shutdowns, costing thousands each day in lost production.

OSSO has a range of rental disk stack separators which can be brought in quickly to polish your fuels and oils. We offer fuel analysis before and after treatment to ensure no contamination remains.

MEG (Monoethylene glycol)

Sometimes ‘schmoo’ can form within MEG from the presence of wear, corrosion products or mineral materials such as sand or clay. Using disk stack centrifuges, contamination can quickly be removed, restoring MEG to the required quality.

Oily water clean up

In oil & gas operations oil-contaminated waters originate from several sources including, tank cleaning work scopes, deck drains, or produced water that is out with offshore discharge permit limits. These waters can also have fine particles and chemicals present which produce stabilised emulsions.

Using 3 phase disk stack centrifuges, OSSO quickly and efficiently cleans the water phase, recovering any hydrocarbons present and is particularly efficient at breaking emulsions.

Servicing, repair and refurbishment

OSSO is a well-established service provider of separation and heat exchange equipment and have the capabilities to service, repair and refurbish most OEM equipment from our custom-designed workshop. We offer preventative maintenance service contracts at OEM recommended services intervals as well as a reactive, breakdown service. Our PHE Service Centre provides a full scale service offering for all types of PHE’s.

Rental equipment

We have the capabilities to service, repair and fully refurbish most OEM separation/ thermal heat exchangers and have an extensive pool of rental equipment including:

High speed disc stack separators

Decanter centrifuges

Slops and oily water treatment systems

Plate heat exchangers (mud/produced water coolers)

Our breadth and depth of knowledge combined with our equipment means will take care of your fluid waste management challenges, help de-risk your project and keep you legislatively compliant.
